-Ken Herman, San Diego Story Raul Valdez, is a freelance singer based in Upland, CA. His most recent credits are being in the chorus for Pacific Opera Project's Trial By Jury, the titular character in Idomeneo with the University of Redlands, and as Triquet in Eugene Onegin during Opera NEO's Young Artist Summer Program. Other credits include Anthony in Sweeney Todd with the Redlands Theatre Festival, and Schaunard in El Paso Opera's Young Artist Program's novella performance of La Bohème. As a multifaceted singer, Raul has performed as a soloist and chorister singing as either Tenor or Baritone.
Raul was also a high school Choir Director and soccer coach in San Antonio. Where he enjoyed teaching students how to use their voices to perform, become advocates for themselves and encouraging athletes to pursue the arts as well. Choral credits include performing with the Dianne Brumley Choir, Inland Master Chorale, University of Redlands Chapel Singers, the University of Texas at El Paso Concert Chorale and Chamber Singers. Raul completed his Masters in Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Redlands where he studied with Patricia Gee and Marco Schindelmann, he holds a Bachelor in Music from the University of Texas at El Paso where he studied with Dr. Blythe Cates, and William E. Dickinson. Raul is currently taking voice lessons from Patrick Goeser. |
